The Best Time To Have Sex If You Want Male Or Female Child With Ease - Medical Research

The Best Time To Have Sex If You Want Male Or Female Child With Ease - Medical Research
Punch Newspaper - It is a common saying that ‘timing is everything,’ but when it comes to sex, especially when it’s just for pleasure, that phrase may not readily apply.

Pleasurable sexual intercourse can be done at anytime and anywhere, because all that is important to enjoy it in that instance is the consent and cooperation of the other person, and in a favourable atmosphere.

In fact, there are times that it is after the romp in the sack that some couples soon realise the inappropriateness of where they did it. It can be that spontaneous.

Be that as it may, findings have however shown that for couples who are aiming at conception, or more specifically, couples who are desirous of pre-determining the gender of their baby, timing is indeed everything.

In other words, the time of the month they have sex is just as crucial to achieving that goal.

And a quote by Rick Springfield, an Australian author, says it all, “If the timing is right and the gods are with you, something special happens.”

Ordinarily, couples who want to have a child are often advised to have sex about three times a week, especially around the time when the woman ovulates to enhance fertilisation. But there is more to that if couples want a particular gender.

The easiest way to have male child

It should be noted that the sperm released by a man has both x and y chromosomes, while the eggs released by a woman at ovulation have x and x chromosomes. And for a woman to conceive a male, the man must release the ‘y’ chromosome because it determines the masculinity of a child. While the x chromosomes equally determine the feminism of the baby.

However, according to Dr. Rotimi Adesanya, a medical doctor, the ‘y’ chromosomes are more active than the x chromosomes, but they die faster than x chromosomes, which are weaker but last longer.

Therefore, when the Y chromosomes are dead, it remains the X chromosomes, and if it is the woman’s fertile period, the woman would likely have a ‘bouncing baby girl.’

Therefore, what should be done if couples want to have a male child?

Adesanya explained that a woman is more likely to conceive a male if sexual intercourse takes place on the day the woman is most fertile, which is the day she releases an egg and that is usually between day 10 and 19 of the menstrual cycle.

He said, “If the sexual intercourse takes place on the day of the woman’s ovulation (the day she releases an egg), which is the day 14 of the woman’s menstrual cycle, and the man releases sperm, that child is ‘likely’ to be a male. This is because the man’s sperm has x and y chromosomes, but the ‘y’ chromosome that determines the masculinity is very active, so it reaches the egg faster than the x that is weaker.

“That is why it is said that couples who want to have a male child stand a better chance if they have sex on the day the woman ovulates.

However, I must add that it is not 100 per cent certain. It is a game of probability. Some people have tried it and it worked, while some others have tried it and it didn’t work.

“That is why we use the word ‘likely’, just that the probability is high if they do ‘it’ on the woman’s ovulation day.”

He added that such couples still stand a chance of having a boy if they have the intercourse like a day after the woman’s ovulation day, because once a woman releases an egg, it can stay for between 24 to 48 hours. Thus, when the man releases sperm into her the day after her ovulation, the ‘y’ chromosome in the sperm would go faster than the x to target the egg that had been there already.

He said, “So, whether the intercourse happens on that ovulation day or the day after (though advisable on the ovulation day), it is most likely to be a boy. If it is after, it should not be more than one or two days, because when a woman releases egg on that day 14, by the second day, that egg would start degenerating and start breaking down to what comes out as blood during menstruation.

“Impliedly, if nothing happens to the egg like after two days, it will break down and come out as blood because the egg doesn’t last more than two days.”

Having a girl child with ease

Meanwhile, for those who want to have a girl child, Adesanya explained that the best way to go about that would be for such persons to have intercourse like a day or two before the ovulation day, more so that sperm can stay in a woman for two to three days.

He added, “If the intercourse happens like a day or two days before the ovulation day, the sperm would still be there, but because the ‘y’ chromosomes do not last like the x chromosomes, what would be left of the sperm would likely be the x chromosomes because they stay longer. And so, the baby would likely be a girl.”

Meanwhile, given the important role ovulation day plays in helping couples to have a chance of determining the gender of their baby, it is necessary to identify the symptoms that precede or characterise the coming of the ovulation period.

According to Adesanya, such things include abdominal pain, being moody, feeling feverish, because of the effects of hormones, increase in breasts size, vomiting for some as if they are pregnant, etc. He added that increased lubrication of the vagina could also be a pointer, as they tend to feel wet at that period.

“It is just like when an animal is on heat and it tends to move closer to the male animals. That is when a woman actually releases an egg. And that day 14 of the woman’s menstrual cycle could vary by one or two days in some women,” he added.

He stressed that even though those calculations may not be 100 per cent sure, there is high possibility that it works.

Meanwhile, for those who are only interested in having a child, regardless of the gender, some experts have stressed the need for such couples to have sex three times a week, so that at some point, the sperm would be in the vagina either a day before ovulation or on that day.

Adesanya said, “In a woman’s cycle, we normally say they should have sex from day 10 of their cycle, which we call the fertile period; because ovulation itself occurs between the 10th and 18th day of the menstrual cycle.

“But the day that has the highest likelihood is that day 14. The principle is that from day 10 to 14, if sexual intercourse happens, that sperm would be waiting for the egg to be released.

“We also use the principle for those who don’t want to conceive. During that day 10 to 18, they should not have intercourse, until after that because that is when the woman is most fertile.

It should equally be noted that ovulation itself is a part of the menstrual cycle, which is usually between 26 and 31 days, which is when an egg is released.

And according to livescience, an organisation that provides information on health, technology and other related issues, a healthy adult male could release between 40 million and 1.2 billion sperm cells in a single ejaculation.

Notably, they are that many because of the stiff competition as to which among them would fertilise the egg.

We Were Forced To Create HIV Virus To Wipe Off African Race - Dr. Robert Gallo

Dr. Robert Gallo
A site run by a friendly and reasonably honest woman I know recently reposted a text titled “The Man Who Created AIDS: Robert Gallo.” The text went super-viral, over 80,000 shares on Facebook alone. Once I read it, I was aghast at how much misinformation and how many scientifically illiterate statements were in the text and attached video. I wrote her explaining my reasoning, and she immediately agreed to take down the text. It still exists on other, less responsible, sites.

Unfortunately, a large part of the damage has already been done, and that among other articles has helped foster the continued existence of a completely unfounded theory based primarily on not understanding what a patent is in molecular biology. A patent on Ebola or HIV is not the same as a patent on an engine.

Whereas the engine’s patent is reserving the production of that type of engine to the patent holder, a patent on HIV or Ebola is a patent meant to specify how the virus was isolated, how the genotype was determined, and what this consensus genotype is.

In biology, you can patent things you found to concretely identify that component, potentially for use in a more complex system later. Keep in mind that you can even patent seeds obtained from cross-pollination: the patent does not mean the species was genetically modified in a laboratory.

The same way a patent on cross-bred species does not mean it was created in a lab, a patent on a virus genome does NOT mean it was created in a lab. Robert Gallo first published his isolation and identification of HIV in 1984, and patented this in 1985. After older blood samples were then analysed in a search for this virus, it was then found in the past: it didn’t suddenly occur in the 1970s or 1980s.

Despite the claims of the article whose damage I am working to undo, the earliest samples of HIV positive blood did not originate from New York homosexuals from the 1970s, but instead date back to 1920s Congo.

The virus most certainly did not originate from biological weapons programs, which are only today becoming advanced enough that creating such a virus is even theoretically possible. They were most certainly not advanced enough in 1920, or even 1960, to create a synthetic retrovirus, which I might add, has still never actually been accomplished. One of the articles I saw blaming Gallo comically claims that chimps were supposedly deliberately infected and released in 1979, which somehow led to the virus occurring in New York in 1971.

The viral “Gallo did it” article that I convinced my friend to take down had an embedded video, where a man “explains” over dramatic music that HIV was created through “combining lymphoma, leukemia, and carcinoma viruses.” I literally burst out laughing, because none of what he listed was a retrovirus or even a virus, and cancer has literally nothing to do with HIV.

You could spend your entire life combining lymphomas, carcinomas, and leukemia, and you would still never end up with a retrovirus at the end.

All of these theories make very specific claims, without any evidence. They encourage me to believe that a man (who thinks cancers are viruses) has special knowledge and access to untold classified documents. To prove his point, the video displays extremely blurry documents that are barely legible beyond seeing Gallo’s name.

For all we know, these documents are completely fake, or actually completely harmless. We don’t know, because as is the norm in such articles or videos: no sources are supplied. Yes, the United States did and maybe still does have biological weapons programs. The Soviets did, and Russia still runs its “Vector” high-security lab, as well.

This is absolutely no indication that HIV is a bioweapon, especially considering the actual time-line of infections. There are even more reasons why Ebola is certainly not a bioweapon, but that is beyond the scope of this text.

Gallo was a scientist, and a researcher, and his position in the public eye is yet another reason to doubt him being an evil mastermind. There is no historical evidence actually implicating Gallo, or any others, in creating a HIV virus.

All of the historical and scientific evidence, as well as a general understanding of patents in science, point to a legitimate researcher, along with his peers, simply trying to identify understand a human illness. There may very well be one or more synthetic doomsday viruses sitting snugly or being worked on in undisclosed locations (or in BSL-4 labs), but HIV and Ebola are not examples of this.

Angry Buhari SACKS All Doctors Nationwide Over Strike
The Federal Government has ordered immediate sack of striking resident doctors in the country.

The Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole, in a circular signed by Amina Shamaki, the permanent secretary of the ministry, directed Chief Medical Directors (CMDs) and medical directors (MDs) of FG tertiary health institutions to fill the vacancies created by resident doctors who have “abandoned” their programme.

Resident doctors in government hospitals had declared indefinite strike on Monday over issue bordering on their entitlements.

The circular reads: “It has come to the notice of the management of the ministry that some resident doctors in your establishment have voluntarily withdrawn from the residency training program by refusing to report for training without authorisation. public service rule, PSR 030402 (e) is relevant.

“This is in spite of the ongoing negotiations on their demands put forward by the representatives of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) under the auspices of the Nigerian Medical Association.

“In view of this development, you are hereby directed to replace all the doctors that have withdrawn their services, with others from the pool of applicants for the training programs in the various disciplines in order not to create ominous gap in training with attendant disruption of health care delivery in your facility.

“Meanwhile, the ministry is working with the panel on the review of the residency training programme in Nigeria, led by Professor Wole Atoyebi, the registrar of the National Postgraduate Medical College, to fast-track the development of a comprehensive blueprint for postgraduate training of doctors in the country.

“Please, ensure immediate compliance.”

Nigerian Pharmacist Finds Cure For Ebola, Zika Viruses

Nigerian Pharmacist Finds Cure For Ebola, Zika Viruses

Nigerian Pilot - Hope appears on the horizon for patients with Zika, dengue virus as cure and prevention of the dreaded diseases have been found.

The cheering news, which is also for cancer patients was disclosed at the 4th annual clinical trial summit held in Abuja.

The herbal drugs have been submitted to the federal government through the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu by a leading African herbal farmer and researcher, Ben Amodu.

Presenting the herbal drugs to the minister at the summit with a theme, “Clinical research and public health emergency in Sub- Sharan Africa”, Pharmacist Amodu explained that the CD8 of a number of patients administered with the herbal drugs increased from 608 to 778 and 1,419 to 2,419. ‘This shows that it has strong activity against Ebola works” he noted.

Profiling the clinical literature of the medicine, he disclosed that the efficacy of the drug’s prevention and cure of Denge, Ebola and Zika viruses have shown remarkable responses in animal experiments, adding that, the products have been sent to Singapore for further test at a p4 laboratory which is not available in the country.

Further to the new herbal products currently on NAFADAC listing, which cure HIV AIDS and Viral Hepatitis, more researches, the Minister was told, on areas of Neglected Tropical Diseases, NTD, have been published by international organisation of scientific research under the journal of pharmacy and biological sciences IQSR-SPR5 May – June 2014, this paper learnt.

Similarly for cancer patients, herbal drugs/ supplement in the Saabfat category and Saabmal which is listed by NAFDAC, indicates that it has been certified free and safe for human use, an indication which has also been corroborated by an American University which found its efficacy appropriate for the cure of cancer of the lungs, colon: cancer conditions generally especially, prostrate caner which is healed without recourse for surgery chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

“The same medication also normalises uric acid level of the patient, for instance a patient that has his prostrate antigen of 12.4 came to 3.2 within 2 months” the herbal farmer admitted.

Speaking earlier, the science and technology Minister, Dr. Onu, regretted why the country was still importing herbal drugs when it had unexploited rich biodiversity .

He noted that with the current state of the economy, the country could benefit a lot from the herbal industry, which generates about $100billion yearly worldwide.

“I am very disturbed that Nigerian imports all forms of herbal products from different parts of the world: if we exploit our rich biodiversity properly, we can meet our demands and those of others in the worlds” he added.

Be WARNED, 'Pure Water; Frozen Chickens, Others DANGEROUS To Health, FG Says
ThisDay - The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, yesterday told the Senate Committee on Agriculture that the health of many Nigerians is threatened by the daily consumption of items such as pure water and smuggled frozen chicken which he said contained poison that is detrimental to their health.

Ogbeh who made this disclosure at a one-day public hearing in National Assembly on bills bothering on food security by the committee, said the consumption of poison from some food items everyday arose from wrong habit of  processing and preserving such items.

The bills are Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Service Bill 2016, Food Security Bill 2016 and Nigerian Institute of Soil Science Bill 2016

He cited the example of the preparation of food called “moinmoin” in cellophane, otherwise known as nylon, as poisonous because nylon contains a large dosage of dioxins which he said are naturally inactive in leaves when used to package such food.

According to him, the consumption of sachet water commonly known as pure water usually exposed to sun at over 28 degree centigrade, is poisonous and thus resulting in many cases of kidney and liver failure among Nigerians.

Ogbeh also said but for the attitude of over boiling meat by many Nigerians, many of them would have been infected by tuberculosis from consumption of cow meat. “Many of the cows being moved from one place to the other by herdsmen are already infected with tuberculosis but our practice of boiling meat very well here has been the saving grace from people being infected with the deadly disease,” he said.

The minister added that frozen chicken preserved with formalin which he said was also used for the preservation of corpses and commonly consumed by Nigerians had been the reason many experience serious health challenges in the land.

He also cited the instance of beans and grains preservation with over dosage of pesticides by farmers and sellers as another dangerous food poison which he said had killed many Nigerians and still killing a number of unsuspecting buyers and consumers.

He further disclosed that wrong application of fertilizer by farmers on their farmland, had also led to poisonous consumption of affected food items. “Unknowingly to many of the farmers, there is specific fertilizer for specific crops in specific state in line with soil texture,” he explained.

He, however, commended the committee for working on the bills, pointing out that they would help to guarantee food security in the country and simultaneously curb the production and preparation of poisonous foods, noting that the “rejection of Nigerian farm produce abroad is embarrassing.”

Ogbe assured Nigerians that the prevalent farmers-herdsmen clashes would soon fizzle out as the government is striving to come up with acceptable policy on grazing reserves.

While declaring the event open, Senate President Bukola Saraki said the need for food security in the country and vibrant agricultural sector for the needed diversification of the  economy was the underlying factor behind the introduction of the bills.

He appealed to herdsmen and farmers across the country to maintain peace, pledging that the National Assembly was ready to proffer a lasting solution to the perennial clashes over grazing by cattle.

Also speaking when a group of herdsmen from Kautal Hore Socio-Cultural Association in Jigawa State visited him, Saraki who described the perennial clashes between the farmers and herdsmen as unfortunate, appealed to the herdsmen to maintain peace at all times.

“The National Assembly and all stakeholders have been meeting on how to ensure that there is permanent peace between the two major groups in the nation’s agricultural system,”he said.

He expressed concern over the frequent clashes between the two groups in recent times, explaining that Nigeria is not the only country where farmers and herdsmen co-exist.

SJS: A New Killer Disease Breaks out In Nigeria

SJS: A New Killer Disease Breaks out In Nigeria

Stephen Johnson Syndrome (SJS)
The Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole, has revealed that a new deadly disease known as Stephen Johnson Syndrome (SJS) has surfaced in Nigeria.

Already, one person has died from the disease and another being treated at the  National Hospital Abuja, the Minister said.

Adewole made the revelation at a press briefing in Abuja on Friday, May 13.

Speaking about the disease, a Senior Consultant Physician/Dermatologist at the National Hospital, Abuja, Dr. Olanrewaju Falodun said that Stephens Johnson Syndrome "is an immune complex mediated hypersensitivity reaction that typically involves the skin and mucous membranes and was first described in 1922 by Albert Stevens and Frank Johnson."

Dr. Olanrewaju Falodun a Senior Consultant Physician/Dermatologist at the National Hospital, Abuja, shed more light on the disease and the cases being handled in his hospital.

“Stephens Johnson Syndrome, is an immune complex mediated hypersensitivity reaction that typically involves the skin and mucous membranes and was first described in 1922 by Albert Stevens and Frank Johnson,” Mr. Falodun said.

SJS is a rare and unpredictable reaction, and is also a minor form of toxic epidermal necrolysis with less than 10 percent body surface area involvement, the consultant said.

“SJS is a rare but serious and potentially life-threatening contagious drug reaction. Incidence of SJS is estimated between 1.1 and 7.1 cases per million per year and is more prevalent in women than men. Incidence in Europe is two per million per year” Mr. Falodun said.

He confirmed that two cases were being treated at the Abuja National Hospital, saying one patient already passed while the other was still undergoing treatment.

He said the incidence was higher in Africa due to extensive use of herbal preparations and the prevalence of HIV.

He listed the symptoms of the SJS disease to include fever, sore throat, running nose, fatigue, general aches and pains, ulcers in mouth, genitals, anal regions as well as conjunctivitis.

The health complications, Mr. Falodun said, are pigmentation problems, skin scarring, scarred genitals, joint pains, lung diseases, obstructive disorders and eye complications, adhesions, ulcers, and blindness.

He however said the cause of the disease remained unknown in a quarter to half of cases but that self-medications appeared to be one of its causes.

He advised Nigerians to avoid misuse of drugs, while individuals with previous drug reactions should always inform healthcare practitioners so that in future they would be able to predict who is at risk of the disease using genetic screening.

Here are ways Mr. Falodun said SJS could be managed by hospitals:
1. Cessation of suspected drugs
2. Hospital Admission: Preferably in burns unit/intensive care
3. Nutritional and Fluid replacement
4. Temperature maintenance
5. Pain relief
6. Mouth-care

Beer Helps Prevent Heart Attack - New Study Reveals

Beer Helps Prevent Heart Attack - New Study Reveals

Beer Helps Prevent Heart Attack
Orijo Reporters - A scientific study has revealed that moderate beer drinking helps to prevent heart attack, and stroke while heavy drinkers are at greater risk of heart problems in the long-term.

A team from world renowned authority on neurology, IRCCS Mediterranean Neurological Institute, Pozzilli, Italy, said that alcohol reduces the risk of heart disease, stroke and artery disease after reviewing 150 studies, according to Daily Mail.

In the report by the British tabloid: A beer a day keeps a heart attack at bay, it was said that drinking 1.4 pints or two 330ml cans protects the heart without increasing the odds of dementia or cancers as beer is known to contains high level of antioxidants – compounds which mop up harmful chemicals thought to cause heart attacks.

Corroborating the Italian neurological institute’s team, a professor of Human Nutrition with the department of human nutrition, University of Ibadan, Prof. Tola Atinmo, at the Bloggers Beer Academy, an awareness programme on the health benefits of moderate beer drinking for online journalists, said beer contained folic acid, which offers some protection against coronary heart-diseases through homocysteine.

“Moderate intake of beer is beneficial to heart health because it contains folic acid. So also silicon for strong bone mineral density, and antioxidants for protection against many forms of cancer.

“92% of beer is water and can count as part of the recommended 8 glasses of water per day but should not be a substitute for water,” he advised.

Dismissing the popular belief that beer causes belly bloat, Prof. Atinmo said, “beer alone does not give one a ‘beer belly’ as it is called.

“Beer belly is caused by too many calories in an individual’s diet, from over-eating, sugary food and beverages, and a sedentary life style.

“More calories are ingested than what is burned. The excess is stored in the body as fat. Fat is stored more in the belly by men, hence the prevalence of beer belly in them.”
