Rep Mato Clocks One Year In Office: Her Trajectory Of Achievements

Rt. Hon Mrs Dorothy Mato, the member of the House of Representatives for Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency of Benue represented Kyan Constituency at the Benue State House of Assembly in the then opposition Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) from 2011 to 2015 and was the best performing legislators at Benue State House of Assembly. 

She left indelible marks in education, infrastructural and human capital development. The agricultural sector in her constituency enjoyed the supplies of fertilizer, seedlings, herbicides and sprayers and introduced passion fruit farming. Roads and culverts as well as bridges were constructed. Employment opportunities alongside skills acquisition for youths were placed on record. 

The Media Coordinator of Hon Mato, Mr Daniel Ingbar has been very active in his work and keeping records of all the impact Rep Mato has made right from when she was in the State Assembly till now that she is at the National Assembly. He is commended for his significant role.

Rep Mato was sworn-in on October 3, 2017 as a member of the House of Representatives for Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency.  Today, she clocks one year in office and has made the following impact on the people of Vandeikya/Konshisha and Benue State at large:

Donated to Makurdi flood victims of 2017 even before being sworn-in.

Made thank you visit to Konshisha on November 13, 2017 at Tse-Agberagba, Konshisha and donated her first earning to the people and did the same to Vandeikya on November 15, 2017.

Provided Christmas gifts of cows, rice, cloths, among others to all the wards of Jechira in December 2017.

Identified herself with the  people of Guma and Logo communities in sympathy for the new year attack on them this year. 

Secured federal appointment (FAAN) two months in office for Konshisha son. More than eleven youths of Jechira into the Nigeria Police Force, more to come in other paramilitary forces and federal agencies. 

Trained some youths in various skills including paint manufacturing, solar installation and maintenance as well as computer software at the federal level.

Spoke to President Buhari on behalf of Benue women over Benue Killings during special delegation of Benue parliamentarians at NASS to the president. 

Donated groundnut seeds to Vandeikya and Konshisha women as empowerment. 

Donated to the Mbaaboho victims of Mbakyaha communal crisis. 

Intervened in the Mbamaa/Ugambe crisis of Konshisha Local Government and donated herbicides and cloths.

Secured motorcycles for youths due for distribution. 

Constructed 10 boreholes across Konshisha/Vandeikya at Gbogbo-Mbavaa, Gbinde-Mbagusa/Mbatser, Ningev, Naa/Mbagbera, Mbagba-Ushongo etc. 

Facilitated provision of school desks to primary school at Mbakyaha and Mbagbera.

Textbooks secured for distribution to primary schools in Jechira. 

Donated to Nyimagbagh electricity project so that the community would also enjoy electricity. 

Renovated a 3 classroom  block at LGEA primary school, Tsar, Mbaduku due for commissioning. 

Free medical outreach to all the wards in Jechira where many have been operated and or given medical glasses. Many operated upon of hydrocelle, hernia, lipoma and appenditocomy, etc. 

Donated cloths to the aged people including widows within Jechira and beyond. 

Easily accessible and participates in wake keeps of party members and constituents. She is fondly referred to as Mother of Charity and Mother Theresa. 

Secured farm land for joint farming at Jov Kyundan and Jov Mbavaa, Konshisha. 

Secured CBN loan, available with commercial banks to be dispense to genuine farmers to boost agriculture. 

Partnering international NGO's for empowerment programmes to constituents soon to be implemented among many other impact she made. 

She did all these in less than one year and seeks your support for her re-election in 2019 to enable her do more. She believes that proceeds from the National Assembly belong to the people not self-enrichment.
